Psalms  46 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.  Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea... We live in troubled times. Very troubled times and I can say that over and over again. From natural disasters that leave communities desolate and ravaged to personal illnesses whose cause and cure remain elusive in spite of the technological advancements of the twenty first century to Wars, rumors of Wars, Civil unrest, terrorism, economic uncertainty, etc ;the Words of Eliphaz the friend of the Patriach Job has never seemed more true: "...man is born unto trouble, as the sparks fly upward." Fame, Wealth and Pleasure. Is this All that Matters? John Erhabor

Have you ever wondered what benefit you have being a Christian? Looking at the world now, we see that the wicked are getting richer, the thief is amassing wealth and living his or her life in abundance . We come back to ourselves and ask, "what benefits are there in associating with Christ?" One thing I have always said when this question is brought up to me is: What is their end? The Bible in Proverbs 37:38, NIV, "But all sinners will be destroyed; there will be no future for the wicked." Here, we can clearly see that the end of the wicked is really not pleasant so we have no cause to envy. No wonder it is said in Proverbs 24:1, "Do not envy the wicked, do not desire their company..." Three things define the world today: fame, wealth and pleasure. These three are what the world pursues. The sad thing is that fame, wealth and pleasure can not sustain in the long haul.
